Situated at the foot of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre the ski station of Barèges which is connected by the Col du Tourmalet with La Mongie offers you 12o kms of pistes, the largest skiable domaine in the Pyrénées.  The Napoleonic spa village has retained much of its authentic charm while offering all the amenities of a larger town including its Thermal Establishment.  It is nestled in an area of exceptional beauty making it a perfect base both in summer and in winter. There is a navette between the village and the pistes throughout the day as well as a télécabine or funiculaire. There are 18 cross country runs. Baréges is a charming village offering excellent skiing and reasonable priced accommodation in a convivial atmosphere.  It is a resort which is open all year round winter for skiing and summer for walking and for thermal cures.
